Reading Comprehension

Reading Grades 1–2

Jonathan loved going to the park to play with his dog, Oliver. They would run around the grassy field and chase after a bright yellow frisbee. One sunny day, Jonathan forgot to bring the frisbee. Instead, he found a stick on the ground and threw it for Oliver to fetch. Oliver happily brought it back each time.
Why did Jonathan use a stick instead of a frisbee to play with Oliver at the park?
