About these worksheets
French adjectives add -e for feminine and -s for plural (vert, verte, verts, vertes), a few have special forms (blanc becomes blanche, nouveau becomes nouvelle), and size and beauty words like petit and joli go before the noun. These sheets use the same nouns, pictures and rules as our French Make It Match game, with the English under every picture. The top level asks children to write the form themselves.
All worksheets are free for home and classroom use, print on one Letter or A4 page and come with an answer key. Every set is generated from the same word and number banks as our games, so "Make a new one" gives you unlimited practice.
Tips for parents & teachers
- Le and la show the gender, but l' hides it. Learn the noun with its gender: une pomme, un chat.
- Adjectives that already end in -e (rouge, jaune, rapide) stay the same for feminine.
- Remember BAGS: Beauty, Age, Goodness and Size words usually come before the noun.
