About these worksheets

Counting worksheets build one-to-one correspondence: touching each dinosaur once while saying the next number. Start with groups of 1 to 5, move to 10 once that is easy, and use the 1 to 20 sheets when your child is ready to count past ten reliably.

Tips for parents & teachers

  • Have your child touch or circle each dinosaur as they count so nothing is skipped or counted twice.
  • Say the number out loud, then write it. Writing numbers is its own skill.
  • Groups up to 5 can be recognised at a glance (subitizing); ask "how many?" before counting.
