About these worksheets
Number sequence worksheets (sometimes called "missing number" or "what comes next" worksheets) check that children know the counting order, not just the counting words. Each row shows six numbers in a row with one or two boxes left blank.
All worksheets are free for home and classroom use, print on one Letter or A4 page and come with an answer key. Every set is generated from the same word and number banks as our games, so "Make a new one" gives you unlimited practice.
Tips for parents & teachers
- Ask "what comes before?" as well as "what comes after?"; the blank is sometimes in the middle of the row.
- For sequences to 100, watch the tricky decade changes: 39 to 40, 59 to 60.
- Kids who find this easy are ready for our skip-counting number pattern worksheets.
